Onderwijsgroep Amstelland en de Cedergroep hebben op 1 mei 2026 een samenwerkingsovereenkomst ondertekend voor het realiseren van kwalitatief hoogwaardig IGVO-onderwijs binnen de Amstelland International School (AIS), waarbij wordt samengewerkt met het Hermann Wesselink College (HWC). De samenwerking maakt het voor leerlingen mogelijk om als vervolg op het bestaande internationaal georiënteerd basisonderwijs (IGBO) van AIS naadloos over te stappen naar het IGVO. Komend schooljaar 2026/2027 zullen de eerste leerlingen met het erkende International Middle Years Programme (IMYC 1) op het Hermann Wesselink College starten. Zowel Onderwijsgroep Amstelland als de Cedergroep kijken met vertrouwen naar de toekomst voor de realisatie van goed, toegankelijk en modern onderwijs dat aansluit bij de behoeften van internationale leerlingen.

Onderwijsgroep Amstelland and Cedergroep collaborate to expand international secondary education
Onderwijsgroep Amstelland and Cedergroep officially signed a cooperation agreement on 1 May 2026 to offer high-quality internationally oriented secondary education (IGVO) through Amstelland International School (AIS), in partnership with Hermann Wesselink College (HWC).
This collaboration creates a seamless educational pathway for students, allowing them to transition smoothly from the school’s existing internationally oriented primary programme (IGBO) into secondary education. Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, the first cohort of students will start the internationally recognised International Middle Years Programme (IMYC 1) at Hermann Wesselink College.
The partnership reflects a shared vision of providing internationally minded, future-focused education that supports both local and internationally mobile families within the region.
Onderwijsgroep Amstelland and Cedergroep are confident in the future of this initiative and remain committed to delivering accessible, high-quality education that responds to the evolving needs of the international community.
The launch of the secondary programme marks an important milestone in the continued growth and development of international education in Amstelveen.
